Osbourne Steel and Supply

Central Nebraska Economic Development District wrote and administered a Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $400,000 to the City of Atkinson. The funds were then loaned out at 0% interest to Osborne Steel and Supply. Osborne used those funds and well as SBA funds to construct a $1.7 million manufacturing facility that now employs over 40 people. This project not only benefits the economy City of Atkinson, but also the surrounding communities.

The city of Atkinson, the Development District, Nebraska Business Development Center and the Nebraska Department of Economic Development worked together with Mr. Osborne to package the grant and loans for this project. It is a great example of collaboration among agencies to accomplish a project.

City of Ainsworth Fire Hall

The City of Ainsworth received $250,000.00 in Community Development Block grant funds to assist in the construction of a 8,204 square foot Fire hall. Upon completion, this facility has provided the community of Ainsworth with a fire hall facility that they can be proud of as well as be able to park their trucks in the building and still have adequate space to prepare for a fire.
