Central Nebraska Housing Conference A Success
The 1st Annual Central Nebraska Housing Conference, held April 9th, at the Calamus Lodge in Burwell, received rave reviews by participants. "This was the first year for this conference, and I was very impressed with the attendees, presenters, and information shared," states Nikki Johnston, Chairperson for the Central Nebraska Housing Developers, the event's main sponsor. Additional sponsorships were received from the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority (NIFA) and grant funds received from the Housing Assistance Council in Washington, DC.

Communities Honored for Affordable Housing Investment
Four area communities were honored by the Nebraska Housing Developers Association at the Central Nebraska Housing Developers First Annual Housing Conference held April 9 at Calamus Lodge in Burwell. The communities, Bassett, O'Neill, St. Paul and Stuart received 2008 Groundbreaker Awards from the Association in recognition of their local investment in affordable housing development.

Country Clover Estates Contractor Info Meeting
The Central Nebraska Housing Developers (CNHD) has scheduled an informational meeting for contractors and home construction suppliers for Wednesday, November 7th, at 5:00 p.m. in the O'Neill City Council Chambers, 401 E. Fremont Street. Those individuals or businesses who are interested in providing bids on the new home construction project in O'Neill are invited to attend this meeting. This new home construction project, now known as the Country Clover Estates Subdivision, is located along Kros Drive and Putter Street.

Flood Disaster Funds Still Available for May 2007 Flood Damaged Homes
Residents who experienced damage to their homes as a result of the May 4, 5, 6, and 26, 2007 floods are reminded that grant funds are still available for qualified households. Flood damaged households in the following counties are encouraged to apply: Blaine, Brown, Custer, Garfield, Greeley, Howard, Keya Paha, Loup, Sherman, Valley and Wheeler.

Parnership Brings New Home Construction to City of O'Neill
An outstanding partnership effort between the Central Nebraska Economic Development, Inc. (CNED, Inc.), the City of O'Neill, Avera St. Anthony Hospital, Midwest Ethanol, and Excel Development Group will bring 8 new homes to O'Neill, as well as the plan for 11 more homes.
